Our correspondent SANDRA KENNETH reports that during the visit to Okehi-Etche, one CHIBUEZE ANOKWURUM led members of his cult group from Ulakwo to embrace amnesty.
The repentant cultists surrendered two Pump Action guns, four Dane guns, and one locally-made double barrel short guns to mark the end of the disarmament exercise in Etche.
In his response; the Chairman of the Amnesty Committee, Sir KENNETH CHINDA also called on members of vigilante groups in Etche to surrender their weapons to avoid the wrath of the law.
During his interaction with the Caretaker Chairman of Etche Local Government council, KENNETH CHINDA cautioned against reading political interpretations to the amnesty programme of the Rivers State Government.
He said those who are criticizing the amnesty programme are not in support of the growth and peace of Rivers State.
CHINDA maintained that the amnesty programme is not meant to reward anyone, stressing that any individual who is expecting the promise of reward before surrendering should have a rethink.
