The Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Aboiyaa Bob-Fubara, has commended the peaceful and massive turnout of APC members during the party’s senatorial primary.
Bob-Fubara said the exercise, which produced Felix Obuah as the APC candidate for Rivers West Senatorial District, reflected members’ loyalty and confidence in the party.
He also praised officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for their professionalism during the exercise.
According to him, APC members in Akuku-Toru will continue to follow the leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he described as a pillar of political stability in Rivers State.
The Chairman of the APC Senatorial Primary Election Committee for Akuku-Toru, Godson Eferebo, also commended members for their confidence in the party.
Other party leaders described the primary election as peaceful and well organised.
