The Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt had last week ordered the Air Force to immediately vacate the shopping mall.
Justice HILARY OSHOMAH delivered the judgment in favour of a private enterprise – Boulevard Steels Limited – while ruling on an application brought before the court.
Correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that when staff of the company tried to enter the shopping complex today, they were stopped by men of the 115 Special Operations Group of Nigerian Air Force.
But when our correspondent visited the base of the NAF 115 Special Operations Group, one of the officers identified as Flying Officer R. K. ORJI said they were acting on orders from their superiors.
The Air Force officer equally displayed the court order, which he said had just been delivered to them and would require time to study it before an appropriate response.
However; a staff of the company hinted that they have already returned to court to initiate contempt proceeding against the Nigerian Air Force.
