Ahoada west local government cry out over abandonment of projects he awarded in their communities

Today Fm’s Sandra Kenneth who visited Engenni kingdom reports that the Okarki secondary school which was awarded in 2018 and the okarki mbiama road that was awarded in 2019 were yet to be completed, despite government’s assurance that the projects would be commissioned in 2021.

Further investigation by Today fm showed that the contractors handling the projects abandoned it since February 2021.

Some members of the community said the alleged poor work carried out on the road has even made it worse for road users

Today FM also visited the only hospital in Ahoada west local government area in Joinkrama that was established in 1945 and taken over by the state government in 1968 and observed that it has also been abandoned.

The people also decried high rate of mortality as a result of difficulties in accessing quality health care.

One of the community leaders, Johnathan Peter told Today FM that they are left with the options of going to Bayelsa state or the university of Port Harcourt teaching hospital for medical attention

Today Fm reports that the only functional department in the hospital at Joinkrama is the mortuary.
