The three-man panel of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had dismissed the petition of the Accord Party governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, for lacking in merit by not proving his claims of irregularities in the election.
But Dumo Lulu-Briggs, through his lawyers, raised twenty-seven grounds of appeal and five reliefs sought which have been entered and transmitted.
Amongst the reliefs sought by the Accord Party and its governorship candidate are an order setting aside the part of the judgment of governorship election tribunal and allowing the appeal.
Lulu-Briggs also wants the court to void the election conducted on the 18th and 19th of March, 2023, and direct INEC to conduct supplementary election on the office of the governor of Rivers State.
