The Abia State Government has approved the rehabilitation of Ibeama Primary School and the access road leading to the community of Nigeria’s first military Head of State, the late General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, in Ndume Otuka, Umuahia North Local Government Area.
Governor Alex Otti gave the directive while responding to requests by community leaders during a civic reception held in honour of the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Austin Nmeregini.
The governor directed the Chairman of the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board to begin the rehabilitation of Ibeama Primary School, which was attended by the late Aguiyi-Ironsi, and also instructed the Commissioner for Works to assess the condition of the community road for immediate rehabilitation.
Otti said the projects are part of his administration’s commitment to improving public education and road infrastructure across the state. He also reaffirmed his resolve to deliver more developmental projects to communities across Abia State.
