A top United Nations human rights official has warned that the situation in Burundi is getting out of control. Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights, IVAN SIMONOVIC told journalists after briefing the Security Council that the assassination of five members of the ruling party in the past two weeks was a disturbing new development.
The violence in Burundi has continued to spread despite the third term re-election of President PIERRE NKURUNZIZA.
