A thirty-eight-year-old woman is reported to have escaped from suspected kidnapped around Rumuji-Ibaa axis in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.A senior police officer told our correspondent that the woman was rescued from a bush after a failed kidnap mission.
Our correspondent reports that the police were alerted by passersby who heard the shout of the woman as she was being forced into the bush by her abductors.In a related development; a yet-to-be identified man has been kidnapped along Peter Odili Road in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
Another man who claimed to have witnessed the abduction told our correspondent that armed men apparently trailed the victim to Peter Odili Road before laying an ambush.Our source said the hoodlums blocked the road and fired gunshots at random to scare away passersby before taking in their target, and abandoned his car by the roadside.Meanwhile; after the kidnappers left the scene; security operatives took over Peter Odili Road and were conducting stop-and-search on vehicles.
