A Military Board of Inquiry has indicted some Army Officers involved in the conduct of the last governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
The Inquiry which was set up by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TUKUR BURATAI, also recommended disciplinary action against the army officers.
The board also investigated the role of soldiers and officers in the 2015 general elections and made similar recommendations.
In the report that was submitted to the Chief of Army Staff yesterday, the board of inquiry recommended the compulsory retirement of two officers.
Three other officers were recommended to lose their command, while one was recommended for prosecution for alleged financial gratification.
Similarly; fifteen officers of the Nigerian Army are to be placed on watch list while nine others will submit themselves for further investigated by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission.The report was submitted by the Chairman of the board, Major General ADENIYI OYEBADE, who is the General Officer Commanding One Division Nigerian Army.
