A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Prince CHIBUDOM NWUCHE is reported to have called on Rivers State politicians to avoid bitterness and blackmail against one another.

A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Prince CHIBUDOM NWUCHE is reported to have called on Rivers State politicians to  avoid bitterness and blackmail against one another.
Prince NWUCHE purportedly observed that the desperate bid to witch-hunt and denigrate political opponents could work against the elevation of Rivers sons and daughters to higher national duties.
In a statement issued in Abuja and circulated through the email account of the Rotimi Amaechi Media Office; the former federal lawmaker lamented that Rivers State could lose its slot in federal appointment to other South-South states if the trend of political witch-hunt and blackmail continues.
He recalled that he had once been a victim of such hateful practices by some misguided persons, on account of his principles, forthrightness and outspokenness.
NWUCHE appealed to the authorities and Nigerians to discountenance the ongoing smear campaign against former Governor of Rivers State, ROTIMI AMAECHI.
He noted that an authority that has publicly adjudged someone guilty of a crime even before investigating the allegation cannot go ahead and appoint a judicial panel to investigate the same infraction and expect the accused persons to appear before the panel with the hope of getting a fair hearing.
He pointing out that the constitution of the judicial panel is ill-motivated and appears to have been designed to achieve pre-determined ends.
