A court in the United Kingdom has sentenced a Nigerian fugitive, ABDUL ADEWALE KEKERE-EKUN to life imprisonment. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission confirmed the development in a statement signed by its spokesman, WILSON UWUJAREN. The man was convicted over the murder of 18-year-old MARCUS HALL in 2001, following a brawl outside Luton’s Atmosphere Nightclub. 39-year-old ABDUL ADEWALE KEKERE-EKUN had pleaded not guilty to the murder charge before the Luton Crown Court, before he fled to Nigeria. The EFFC recalled that was arrested in Nigeria in February for alleged identity theft and fraud, and investigation showed that he was on the wanted list of the United Kingdom Police.
The man was later extradited to the UK with the consent of former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, MOHAMMED BELLO ADOKE.
