FRSC Warns Motorists Against One-Way Driving on Lagos–Ibadan Expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned motorists, including drivers of security and government vehicles, against driving against traffic on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, stressing that offenders will face penalties as repair works continue on the Kara Bridge section of the road.

The Lagos Sector Commander of the FRSC, Kehinde Hamzat, issued the warning while addressing a traffic gridlock along the corridor, urging all road users to comply with traffic regulations put in place to ease movement and ensure safety during the ongoing repairs.

Reacting to concerns that some security and government vehicles were still driving one-way despite existing restrictions, Hamzat described the act as unacceptable and an abuse of office, emphasising that traffic laws apply equally to all motorists regardless of status.

He reiterated the agency’s commitment to enforcing compliance and maintaining order on the expressway throughout the repair period.
