Niger Republic Discovers Thirty Four Bodies Of Immigrant in Shara Desert

A government statement said the bodies, including those of twenty children, were found near the small desert town of Assamakka.
The Interior Minister BAZOUM MOHAMMED said it appeared the migrants had died of thirst in their bid to enter Europe, after being abandoned by their smugglers.

MOHAMMED said nine of the adults were women and five were men, adding that members of the group had died between 6th and 12th June.

The BBC reports that two victims have been identified as Nigerians, but the nationalities of the others are not yet clear
