The women who were all clad in black made the demand during a protest against the persistent killing of young ladies in the state.
Leader of the protesters, RITA MARLEY demanded an apology from Police for allegedly describing murdered victims of the serial killer as prostitutes while others; including IBIM SEMINITARI and EUGENE ABELS said government must be sincere about ending security in the state.
Responding to the demands of the women, Secretary to the State Government, TAMMY DANAGOGO said Governor NYESOM WIKE is deeply concerned about the disturbing trend.
Correspondent ELFREDA ALERECHI reports that seventy-seven Non Governmental Organizations in Rivers State, including women in Rotary and Nigerian Association of Women as well as men participated the protest.
