President Bola Tinubu has dismissed allegations that he is behind the wave of defections from opposition parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President insisted that he neither coerced nor pressured any politician to abandon their political platform, maintaining that decisions to defect were made voluntarily.
He also refuted claims that his administration is working to weaken opposition parties, stating that Nigeria’s democracy thrives on healthy political competition.
Tinubu added that he could not fault politicians who chose to switch allegiance, likening their decisions to leaving a sinking ship.
