Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says the All Progressives Congress, APC, would have won the recent Osun governorship election if President Bola Tinubu had deployed the influence and machinery of the Federal Government to secure victory for the party.
Wike, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said President Tinubu deliberately allowed the election to proceed without federal interference. He suggested that the outcome would have been different if the president had wanted the APC to win “at all costs.”
Wike’s comments come amid discussions over the conduct and outcome of the Osun governorship election, with the FCT Minister maintaining that the result reflected the decision of the Federal Government not to interfere in the electoral process.
