The worsening security situation in Rivers State remains a major concern for stakeholders in the state.
The issue was placed on the front burner of discussions during a stakeholders forum at Rumuigbo in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.
In his remark, the Deputy Registrar in charge of Public Relations in the University of Port Harcourt, WILLIAM WORDI decried that security of Rivers State has been compromised. WORDI wondered why the limited number of security personnel are deployed to serve to protect the few rich people.
He warned that the situation in Rivers state could escalate if remedial measures immediately are not put in place.
WILLIAM WORDI advised the Federal government to integrate traditional authorities into the governance structure to enhance efficiency.
