The Nigerian Army has commended the Department of State Services for the arrest of another terror kingpin on the list of the Most Wanted Boko Haram suspects. The Borno State Command of the DSS yesterday arrested DANLADI ABDULLAHI at Moduganari area in Maiduguri. ABDULLAHI is suspect number twenty-six on the list of the wanted Boko Haram terrorists released by the Nigerian Army last month. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TUKUR YUSUF BURATAI, lauded the DSS, especially Borno State Command, for the arrest and continued support in the fight against terrorism. The dispute between the Nigerian Communications Commission and telecoms giant, MTN Nigeria continues.
The latest development is that the NCC has extended the deadline for MTN to pay the mega fine of one point zero-four trillion naira. The company had until today to pay the fine, which was slammed on it for failing to deactivate over five million unregistered SIM cards. But the mobile phone giant said the NCC had dropped the 16 November deadline for it to pay the fine. It said negotiations between the two sides continue over the dispute, which has caused MTN shares to suffer at the Stock Market.
