The former governor of Rivers State, ROTIMI AMAECHI has denied a media report alleging that he stormed the residence of the Senate President to complain about the delay of his ministerial screening last week. A statement by the Rotimi Amaechi Media Office; said the purported front page report on Thisday Newspaper on Monday, 19th October, 2015 and the imagery created by the writers is absolutely not true. The statement signed by AMAECHI’s spokesman, DAVID IYOFOR, maintained that the former governor of Rivers State did not visit and was not at the residence of the Senate President on Thursday of last week as claimed in the report. He said there was absolutely no way for what the newspaper sources claimed to have transpired could have happened. The statement emphasized that former Governor AMAECHI holds the office of the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in very high esteem and will never disrespect or act in any way that would put the office in disrepute.
It described that report as a deliberate and carefully calibrated attempt to characterize AMAECHI with a very bad and demeaning mannerism. The Amaechi Media Officer said while the constraints and pressures journalists face in doing their jobs are understandable, it advise them to be thorough and double-check their sources of information.
