Cape Verde have equalled a World Cup milestone previously achieved by only Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Ghana after reaching the knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the first time in their history.
The Blue Sharks became the third African nation to achieve the feat in their debut World Cup appearance, joining Nigeria and Ghana in the record books.
