Rivers NMA Debunks Claims of ‘Stolen’ Sex Organs, Urges Public to Reject Superstition

The Rivers State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has dismissed claims that a person’s sex organ or any other body part can be stolen through physical contact or spiritual means, describing such allegations as medically impossible.

The association reacted to a viral incident in Igwuruta Community, Ikwerre Local Government Area, where a man, Daso Ogan, was allegedly assaulted and detained after being accused of magically stealing another man’s sex organ.

In a statement, the NMA’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Siene Orogun, speaking on behalf of the Acting Chairman, Prof. Ureh Oparaodu, said there is no scientific or biological evidence that a handshake, touch, or any form of physical contact can cause the disappearance, shrinking, or dysfunction of a person’s sex organ or any other body part.

The association urged residents to seek proper medical evaluation for health concerns and avoid spreading misinformation that could lead to violence, harassment, or wrongful accusations against innocent persons.
