The APC particularly made reference to sustained media statements by the PDP through its National Publicity Secretary, Chief OLISAH METUH, on the Akwa Ibom State governorship election petition.
In a text of a news conference addressed in Lagos by the National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji LAI MOHAMMED, the APC accused the PDP of embarking on a calculated move to denigrate the security agencies, especially the Department of State Security Services.
LAI MOHAMMED said it was not by accident that the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, UCHE SECONDUS, has led what he described as a cacophony of other PDP voices that have been shouting themselves hoarse in an effort to pull the wool over the eyes of Nigerians.
MOHAMMED said the intention of the PDP is to distort the real situation with regard to the Governorship Election Petition by the APC Governorship Candidate in the last election, UMANA UMANA.
He listed those following in the footsteps UCHE SECONDUS as PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, OLISA METUH; Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State PDP, PAUL EKPO and the Akwa Ibom State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, UWEMEDIMO NWOKO.
LAI MOHAMMED said in what amounts to turning the truth on its head and crying wolf where there is none, the PDP has pointedly accused the APC of working in cahoots with the DSS to upturn the Akwa Ibom Governorship Election purportedly won by the PDP.
The APC spokesman described the allegation by the PDP as the summary of all their mindless and meaningless accusations.
