A suspected internet fraudster, Samson Onaolapo, has been arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos over an alleged romance scam involving about $7,000. He was charged with conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretence and impersonation, to which he pleaded not guilt
The prosecution told the court that the defendant allegedly posed as a foreign national online to deceive his victim into sending money. The case was adjourned to allow the court consider his bail application, while he was remanded in a correctional facility.
