Stakeholders urge improved security on water ways by Rivers state govt

A national board of trustee member in the maritime sector, Harry Waite, who made the call during an interview with Todayfm’s Sandra Kenneth, lamented that passengers on the waterways in the state are continuously attacked by the sea pirates.

Waite, who also decried the daily rise of engine theft,  stressed that the waterways have become a threat to people dwelling in the area.

He mentioned that some communities in rural areas only depend on transportation by water, adding that the only means of connecting to the rest of the state is being defeated by the incessant attacks.
