Turkey and allied Syrian rebels launched a cross-border offensive on October 9 against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units, themed terrorists by Turkey, seizing control of a hundred and twenty kilometres long and thirty kilometres deep strip of land along the frontier.

The joint patrol with Russian military police, consisting of nine military vehicles, started at Darbasiya down to the west along the border.
