The Commissioner also directed school principals who may have already collected money from the prospective JSSCE candidates to return same without delay.
Professor EBEKU issued the directive in response to claims in some quarters that some schools were charging various sums of money from students as registration fees for the Junior Secondary Scholl Certificate Examination.
He said the Ministry of Education has not approved any examination fee for the junior class and no one has been authorized to collect any registration fees for the examination.
The Education Commissioner said it was illegal for principals to charge fees for the JSSCE; adding that anyone caught in the act would face disciplinary action.
