The Rivers State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security before, during, and after Saturday’s local government elections.
Speaking at the command’s headquarters on Moscow Road, the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, said sufficient manpower has been deployed across all 23 local government areas of the state. He emphasized that only the Police and other recognized security agencies will be involved in securing the polls.
Adepoju further announced that there will be a restriction of movement across the state from 12 midnight to 6pm on election day. He added that only accredited officials will be permitted to move freely during the exercise.
