Rivers Police Arrest Officers Over Assault of Young Man in Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of officers accused of assaulting a young man in Port Harcourt.

Police spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the officers are currently in detention and will face disciplinary action for their alleged involvement in the incident.

According to her, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full-scale investigation and directed the CP Monitoring Team to handle the case. She reiterated the command’s commitment to professionalism and accountability in policing.

The victim had earlier alleged that he was assaulted by the officers after refusing to pay one million naira over an expired tinted permit.
