The Labour Party in Rivers State, led by Deinye Pepple, says it has commenced campaigns ahead of the August 30th local government elections.
Speaking to journalists, Pepple disclosed that the party will field candidates for chairmanship and councillorship positions in 14 local government areas. He expressed confidence that Labour Party candidates would emerge victorious in those areas if the polls are conducted in a free and fair manner.
Pepple further revealed that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has cleared the party’s candidates for the elections, a move he said affirms his leadership of the Labour Party in the state.
