Reps rejects S’East commission Bill.

The bill was rejected by the lawmakers in a voice vote due to what the representatives said was inadequate consultations before the presentation.

Before the vote; the House was thrown into a rowdy session due to protests by members from the South-East after the bill was stepped down.

It also happened that when the bill was presented, the sponsor, CHUKWUKA ONYEMA, was said absent from plenary.

Following explanations by the Speaker, YAKUBU DOGARA, the lawmakers resolved to entertain deliberations on the bill, which led to the voice vote to either sustain or reject the proposed, legislation; and those against it had their way.
