A lawyer and activist, Chetam Nwala, has criticised some parents of Wisdom Gate School for demanding the reopening of the school while investigations into the death of a pupil are still ongoing.
Nwala described the demand as inhumane and insensitive, insisting that due process must be followed to ensure justice is served.
In a similar reaction, rights activist Charles Jaja faulted the parents, describing their position as selfish.
Also speaking, human rights lawyer Higher King said although the closure of the school is justified, the government should also take into consideration the welfare and academic continuity of other pupils affected by the shutdown.
