President SALVA KIIR of South Sudan has called on lawmakers to support a peace deal aimed at ending the two years of civil war. The civil war in South Sudan began when President KIIR accused his sacked deputy, RIEK MACHAR of planning a coup in 2013. The conflict has triggered a humanitarian crisis, with two point three million people forced to flee their homes and four point six million others in need of food.
