The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered two AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition after foiling an attempted abduction in Port Harcourt. Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko said the incident occurred when armed men invaded a residence in the Government Reserved Area and attempted to abduct a 35-year-old man identified as Fadi Nasser.
According to the police, a timely tip-off led to the arrest of one suspect, Joseph Abibo, while six other gang members fled the scene with gunshot injuries. The command said a manhunt is underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects and urged residents to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in tracking them down.
