The National Sports Commission (NSC) has officially announced the guidelines and timetable for the upcoming 2025 National Sports Federations (NSF) Board Elections, scheduled to hold from September 1 to September 15, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
In a move aligned with international best practices, the elections are designed to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance within Nigeria’s sports federations. The process will be closely supervised by the NSC, with the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) designated as an independent observer to ensure fairness and integrity.
The newly released guidelines detail a comprehensive electoral framework aimed at selecting qualified, credible, and passionate individuals to serve on the NSF boards. The procedures cover various aspects, including board composition, eligibility criteria, electoral regulations, handling petitions and appeals, and protocols for the inauguration of elected members.
