The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced WhatsApp and live chat support services to improve access to assistance for Nigerians and legal residents seeking help with National Identification Number (NIN) related issues.
The Commission said the initiative is part of its ongoing digital transformation reforms aimed at making identity services faster, easier, and more accessible, while reducing the need for physical visits to its offices.
According to NIMC, the new support channels will provide real-time responses to enquiries and guidance on NIN registration, data modification, and other identity management services.
The Commission added that the live chat feature is available on its official website, while the WhatsApp support line is designed to improve customer interaction and service delivery across the country.
NIMC also urged the public to make use of only its official communication platforms to avoid falling victim to fraudsters and misinformation.
The development comes as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s digital identity system and improve efficiency in public service delivery under the Federal Government’s digital reform agenda.
