NDP, APGA UNVEIL GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATES IN RIVERS

One of the newly registered political parties, the National Democratic Party, NDP, has unveiled Dr. Silva Opusunju as its governorship candidate for Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dr. Opusunju emerged through a consensus arrangement during the party’s primary election held in Port Harcourt.

Speaking shortly after his emergence, the governorship candidate assured Rivers people that his administration would restore the state’s lost glory if elected in 2027.

The Rivers State Chairman of the NDP, Allwell Igbor, expressed confidence in the ability and credibility of Dr. Opusunju to positively transform the state.

Also speaking, the party’s Publicity Secretary in Rivers State, Bagbi A. Bagbi, described the candidate as an experienced and visionary politician with the capacity to reposition Rivers State across various sectors.

In the same vein, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has unveiled Omangima Idoniboye-Obu as its governorship candidate in Rivers State following a consensus arrangement endorsed by party leaders.

Speaking after his emergence, Idoniboye-Obu thanked party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to prioritize economic rebirth and prosperity in Rivers State if elected.

He said his administration would focus on policies and programmes aimed at driving sustainable development, improving livelihoods and creating opportunities for residents.

The party also announced Dr. Nuadum Etukere as its candidate for the Khana Constituency One seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

APGA leaders described the consensus process as peaceful and reflective of unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
