MOSOP ALLEGES POLITICAL EXCLUSION OF OGONI PEOPLE

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, MOSOP, has condemned what it described as the political marginalization and exclusion of Ogoni people from the governance structure of Rivers State.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Imeabe Saviour Oscar, the group accused political leaders in the state of sidelining qualified Ogoni sons and daughters from occupying key leadership positions, particularly the office of the governor.

MOSOP said the development undermines the principles of equity, justice and fair representation.

The group also accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside some Ogoni individuals, of allegedly jeopardizing the political future of Ogoniland.

MOSOP further called on President Bola Tinubu to address the political exclusion of Ogoni people, especially as discussions continue on the possible resumption of oil exploration activities in the area.
