Rivers Govt Pledges Support for Nigerian Army to Strengthen Security

The Rivers State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and partnering with the Nigerian Army to strengthen security and maintain a safe environment across the state.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara stated this when the new General Officer Commanding, GOC, 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Everest Okoro, paid a visit to the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Governor Fubara assured the new GOC of the state government’s continued support and cooperation to enable the division achieve positive results in its operations across Rivers State.

Responding, Major General Okoro described the visit as an opportunity to strengthen the existing relationship between the Nigerian Army and the Rivers State Government.

He said Rivers State occupies a strategic position and would be regarded as a key partner in the division’s operations.

The GOC reaffirmed the commitment of 6 Division to working with the state government and other stakeholders to provide a safe and secure environment for residents of Rivers State.
