The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Rivers State, Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has pledged greater support for the state’s creative and entertainment industry if elected in 2027.
Lulu-Briggs made the promise at the grand finale of the NDC Rivers State Campaign Song Contest, where eleven finalists competed for the top prize.
He said Rivers State’s youthful population and vibrant entertainment industry deserve deliberate government investment, describing the creative sector as a major driver of economic growth, job creation, and youth empowerment.
The NDC governorship candidate also recalled his previous investments in the hospitality and entertainment sectors, saying they demonstrate his long-standing commitment to discovering and developing young talent.
At the event, a female artist known as So-Bliss emerged winner of the competition, with her song adopted as the official NDC Rivers State campaign anthem.
All eleven finalists received cash prizes of one million naira each, while the top three contestants received additional cash rewards. Judges who officiated the competition were also honoured with cash awards for their service.
