Nairo Quintana will ride the Vuelta a Espana later this month, his Movistar team have announced. The 25-year-old Colombian took the decision to race the season’s third and final grand tour after finishing second to Chris Froome at the Tour de France. Quintana made the Tour his main goal for the 2015 season but, given that he appeared to get stronger as the race wore on and missed out on victory by just 1min 12sec, he has now opted to target the Vuelta, which starts on August 22.
Tour de France winner, Chris Froome is expected to decide whether to take part in the coming days.
