The foreign hostages include a French social service worker, an elderly Australian surgeon and a Colombian nun, who have been in captivity without negotiations for their release.
Meanwhile; President MACRON is in Mali to consolidate western backing for a regional standby force against Islamist militants in the Sahel region
In an address in Mali’s capital Bamako, MACRON said France and the Sahel G5 countries, which are made up of Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania and Niger, have to work together to eradicate terrorists, thugs and murderers.
He promised that the French government would put all its energy towards eradicating those who took the foreigners hostage.
