The President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Jonathan Lokpobiri Senior, has commended the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for visiting the construction site of the IYC Ultra-Modern Secretariat Complex in Yenagoa to assess the level of work done.
Lokpobiri expressed delight at the warm reception given to Tompolo by jubilant Ijaw youths during the visit, noting that the IYC has long operated without a befitting secretariat of its own. He described Tompolo as a dependable pillar of support and a unifier who continues to give back to the Ijaw nation through meaningful projects and empowerment initiatives.
On his part, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Kestin Pondi, stated that the company’s support for the IYC secretariat project aligns with its corporate social responsibility goals.
Pondi also decried the environmental degradation in the Niger Delta, attributing the pollution of the region’s delicate marine ecosystem to illegal bunkering activities and operational malpractices by multinational oil companies.
