IYC President Assures Firms of Safety, Receives Donation for Secretariat Project

President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Jonathan Lokpobiri Senior, has assured companies operating in Ijawland of a peaceful and conducive environment for their operations.

Lokpobiri gave the assurance while receiving a donation of 900 bags of cement from the General Manager of AIL Infrastructure Limited, Olaniran Aderigbe, who visited the construction site of the IYC Secretariat at Ijaw House in Yenagoa to assess the pace of work.

He praised the company for its support, describing the gesture as a demonstration of goodwill and a step that would further strengthen the relationship between the IYC and AIL Infrastructure.

Aderigbe, in his remarks, said the donation was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and a reflection of its commitment to the development and empowerment of the Ijaw Nation.

The ongoing IYC Secretariat Complex is expected to house a three-storey administrative building, a training centre, a 2,500-seater international conference hall, a mini sick bay, and other key facilities upon completion.
