But a day before the ICC ruling, the governing African National Congress in South Africa has again hinted that the plans to withdraw the country from the ICC still stand.
South Africa’s withdrawal bid from the ICC was first announced two years ago, as part of a broader push by some African governments against an institution they felt was unfairly targeting the continent and its leaders.
But South Africa’s High Court ruled that the government had gone about the withdrawal process unconstitutionally, having failed to consult parliament.
