Head of Civil Service Appears Before Reps Committee Over Disputed Investment Council

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, has appeared before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the establishment of the disputed Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

The 12-member committee is examining the circumstances surrounding the creation of the council, the process through which it was included in the 2026 budget, and the alleged allocation of ₦1.3 billion to what lawmakers described as an illegal government agency in the 2026 Appropriation Act.

The investigation is expected to determine whether due process was followed in establishing the council and approving its budgetary allocation.
