Gambia Political crisis; Nigeria to host talk with four other West African countries.

The meeting convened by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI is taking place today in Abuja, and the goal is how to avoid violence in The Gambia.

Also expected at the meeting are Senegal President MACKY SALL, Liberian President ELLEN JOHNSON SIRLEAF, Sierra Leone Vice-President VICTOR FOH and former Ghana President JOHN MAHAMA.

Trouble started in The Gambia after long-serving President YAHYA JAMMEH backtracked on conceding defeat to opposition presidential candidate, ADAMA BARROW.

Meanwhile; the Nigerian leader and the immediate-pat Ghanaian President also have the mandate of ECOWAS to ensure the safety of ADAMA BARROW.

They are also to ensure there is a peaceful handover of power in The Gambia on 19th January.
