Reports say AHMADINEJAD has registered as a candidate in the next presidential election, despite objection by the Iranian Supreme Leader, AYATOLLAH ALI KHAMENEI.
The Iranian leader warned that AHMADINEJAD’s involvement in the race would was not in his interest and that of the country.
Incumbent President HASSAN ROUHANI is expected to seek reelection although he is yet to register.
