The Nigerian Forest Security Service has said it is fully prepared to address escalating security challenges in Ikwerre Local Government Area, including kidnapping, herders’ activities, and other criminal acts.
The Area Commander in Ikwerre LGA, Chimekwa Charles, made the disclosure during a visit to the council chairman, Charles Wobodo, at his office in Isiokpo.
Chimekwa said the visit was intended to strengthen collaboration between the Forest Security Service and the local government council to effectively combat crime and social vices in the area. He also stressed that protecting forest zones remains a priority for the agency.
Responding, Wobodo commended the service for its proactive approach and commitment to security. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to partnering with the Forest Security Service and other stakeholders to minimize kidnapping and criminal activities in Ikwerre LGA.
