Nigeria’s Flamingos have emerged champions of the WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup after defeating Togo convincingly in the final of the regional tournament.
The Flamingos dominated the encounter from start to finish, producing an impressive display to secure the title and underline their status as one of the leading teams in women’s youth football in the West African sub-region.
Coached by Bankole Olowookere, the Nigerian side showcased their attacking strength and defensive solidity throughout the competition, culminating in a commanding victory over their Togolese counterparts in the final.
The triumph marks another milestone for the Flamingos, who have consistently performed strongly at continental and global youth tournaments, including their historic third-place finish at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2022.
The victory is also expected to boost the team’s preparations for future continental assignments as Nigeria continues its quest to maintain dominance in women’s youth football across Africa.
