The Federal Government has reportedly secured the release of 100 schoolchildren abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The children were part of the 315 people kidnapped when armed bandits attacked the remote community on 21 November 2025. The assailants, who arrived around 2:00 a.m. on motorbikes, operated for nearly three hours, storming the school dormitories and abducting 303 students and 12 teachers.
Sources indicate that efforts remain ongoing to secure the release of the remaining abductees, as security agencies and local authorities continue coordinated rescue operations.
More details are expected as the situation develops.
